To spice things up, the developers of BitLife offer weekly challenges that usually require your character to be born in a certain state, such as the Guilty Grandpa challenge.

The problem is that BitLife only lets you pick a country and place, which is usually a large city, but never the states themselves. So, unless you’ve been keeping up with your geography, you might not know how to start in certain states.

Texas is thankfully one of the easiest states to start in because it has three different cities that you can pick. Most places in the United States in BitLife only list one or two cities, but Texas is one of the few that has three.

To get started, start a new life in BitLife. Don’t worry if you already have a life in progress, as it’ll automatically save for later, and you can pick it back up at any point. Choose any of the following three places to be born in Texas:

• Austin
• Dallas
• Houston

As long as you choose any of these three cities as your place, your character will be considered to be born in Texas. In case you were wondering, Austin is the capital of Texas, Houston is the largest city, and Dallas is one of the most popular cities.

How to Get Born in Oregon in BitLife

The Raving Lunar-tic challenge is one of the newest challenges in BitLife, and it’s a bit of a silly one. This one requires you to lead a party life while becoming an astronaut… while still partying. It’s a crazy challenge, and here’s the complete goal list for it:

• Be born in Oregon
• Become an astronaut
• Drink at the club 5+ times
• Maintain an alcohol addiction
• Retrieved 2+ Lunar artifacts while addicted to alcohol

One of the first goals that you need to fulfill is to simply be born in Oregon. If we had to guess why Oregon, it’s probably because NASA does a lot of testing there. The state is very space-forward with plenty of campuses dedicated to studying the stars.

Thankfully, being born in Oregon is one of the easier goals to complete. All you need to do is start a new life in BitLife, then set your country to United States, and your place to Portland, which is the biggest city in Oregon.

Once you’ve set everything up, go ahead and start your new life, and that’s it! No extra purchases or god mode necessary, which is why this is the easiest goal to complete for this challenge. Now, the other goals on the other hand aren’t so easy, unfortunately.

BitLife Guide: How to Start your Life in Massachusetts

Massachusetts is a state in the northeastern region of United States, siting cozily next to Connecticut and Rhode Island. Much like the other smaller east coast states, there’s usually only one place to start here in BitLife. Whether you’re trying to complete the Model Mischief challenge or you just want to live on the east coast, we’ll show you how to be born in Massachusetts.

Start BitLife, and then start a new life. Don’t worry if you already have a life in progress, as the game will save it for later, and you can pick it back up at any time you like.

When you’re starting a new life in BitLife, you can customize your name, gender, country, and place. Your name and gender can be whatever you want, but be sure to set your country to the United States, of course.

For places, BitLife tries to list state capitals and the largest cities, but in the case of Massachusetts, its capital is the biggest city, which is Boston. Set your place there, and your character starts their life in Massachusetts. Your settings should look like the screenshot below when you’re finished.

And that’s it! Your character will be considered born in Massachusetts after starting your life in Boston. Do note that you can’t move to different places after you have already been born; you can only move to different countries, so this always requires restarting.

Illinois, the inland empire state, is known for its incredibly diverse economy. It’s also famous for being the birthplaces of famous presidents like Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Barack Obama. Whether you’re trying to complete the Tortured Artist challenge or you just want to live in the state of Illinois, we’ll show you how to find it.

Open up BitLife and start a new life. Your name and gender can be whatever you like, so get creative. The only things that matter are your starting locations, so choose the United States for your country and Chicago for your place. This is how to be born in Illinois.

While you’re here, make sure customize your special talent, appearance, and attributes, if you have God Mode purchased and unlocked. This is the only chance you get to customize these options, so don’t forget.

Chicago is the largest city in Illinois, so this will start you out in the state of Illinois. Sometimes, BitLife has both the largest city and the capital, which would be Springfield in this case, but only Chicago is included for some reason.

BitLife only seems to include multiple cities for the larger states; California, for instance, has San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento! The smaller states, like the majority of east coast states, usually only have one city to represent them, sadly.

How to Start your BitLife in Louisiana

First, let’s open up BitLife and start a new life. Don’t worry if you already have a life in progress, as it’s saved for later upon creating a new one. You can load it back up and play it any time you like.

Now, when you’re creating your character, set your country to United States. This changes your potential places to capital and major cities. Some states have multiple cities listed in the places list, whereas some only have one, and Louisiana is one of them.

The largest city in Louisiana is New Orleans, so pick that and your character will be born in Louisiana. Louisiana’s capital city, Baton Rouge, is sadly not listed in the BitLife places, so you’ll have to settle for New Orleans.

Guide to Being Born in New Jersey in BitLife

To start, you have to start a new life. If you already have a life in progress, don’t worry, as it’s saved for later and you can play it at any time you want.

When you’re starting a new life in BitLife, you’re given a few customization options. You can change your name, gender, birth country and place. Your name and gender can be whatever you want, but what matters is the country and place.

To be born in New Jersey, set your country to the United States of course. For place, we’re going with the biggest city in New Jersey, Newark. If you don’t know your geography, it was probably a little confusing on where to start, huh?

The thing is, BitLife is a little inconsistent with its locations. Sometimes it lists the capital cities of a state, but sometimes it doesn’t, so we can’t blame you for the confusion. New Jersey’s capital, Trenton, is not on the list as you can see. We’ve noticed that BitLife tends to prefer the most popular or well-known cities of a state.

How to be Born in California in BitLife

California is one of the biggest states in the US in terms of population, so there’s lots of opportunities for you here in BitLife. Whether you’re trying to complete the Ken Enough challenge or you just want to live in the golden state, here’s how to do it.

Start playing BitLife, and then choose to start a new life. Don’t worry if you’re already in the middle of a life, because the game saves all of your running lives, and you can pick them back up any time you want.

When you’re creating a new life, your name and gender can be whatever you want. What we want to change are the country and place settings, as these two settings will change where your character is born.

For your country, we want to set it as the United States, of course. Next, for your place, you want any of the following cities:

• Los Angeles
• San Diego
• Sacramento
• San Francisco
• San Jose

If you didn’t know, these are all major cities in California. Los Angeles and San Diego are the two largest counties in southern California while San Francisco, and San Jose are situated in northern California. Sacramento is actually the capital city of California! We know this can be a little confusing if you’re not too great with geography, but that’s exactly what this guide is for.

When you’re setting up your new life, make sure to set your country to the United States. Your name and gender can be whatever you want, but make sure to set the place to New York.

And that’s it—your new life will start in the big apple. From here, you can live out your life however you want, and you can do it all in New York city. Live out your dreams, become a famous star, become an esteemed scientist, and maybe one day you’ll own one of those skyscrapers!

If you’re feeling a little more daring, you can even take on a life of crime. You can attack people on the streets just like in the stereotypical settings of movies, or you can go big and rob a bank. It’s your life, and whatever you want is what goes!

How to Get and Own a Komodo Dragon Pet in BitLife

Komodo dragons in real life are absolutely amazing creatures, as they’re equally majestic as they are deadly. Whether you’re trying to complete the Mother of Dragons challenge or you just want a radical pet, we can guide you through the process of getting a komodo dragon in BitLife.

Before we begin, you should know that in order to own a komodo dragon, you need to buy the Black Market Expansion Pack, which costs 4.99 USD. If you’re not willing to cough up the dough, you unfortunately won’t be able to own a komodo dragon.

Once you bought the Black Market Expansion Pack, you’re set to start working towards a komodo dragon. You’ll need some cash, roughly around $500, so make sure you’ve worked a bit.

Whenever you’re ready, open up the Activities tab. Scroll down until you see the Black Market, and tap on it. You’ll see a list of illegal dealers selling all sorts of goods, but what we’re looking for is the Wildlife Smuggler.

Tap on the Wildlife Smuggler, and they will present a random exotic animal to you, with the komodo dragon being one of the possibilities. If you get the wrong animal, you can either age up a year or manually close BitLife to force a refresh.

Side note: The manual closing of BitLife to refresh the Wildlife Smuggler doesn’t seem to work anymore. We don’t know if they intentionally patched this out, but we had to actually age up a year in order to get the Wildlife Smuggler to come back.

Once you’re offered the komodo dragon, you’re given the option to purchase it right away or try to haggle for it. If you want to komodo dragon really bad, we highly recommend just buying it for the base price, because attempting to haggle may end up with the Wildlife Smuggler backing out of the deal.

Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as handing over the money and being done with it; there’s a very good chance that another potential buyer will come in and try to start a bidding war with you.

You have multiple ways of dealing with a bidding war. You can offer more money, which is the safer and recommended choice, or you can threaten or attack the buyer. If you’re going the aggressive route, keep an eye on the person’s threat meter—if it’s high, the person might fight back!

How to Get the Roadkill Remover Job in BitLife

There are lots of ungraceful but important jobs in the world, and roadkill remover is one of them. It’s already sad enough that animals meet an untimely end, but having their corpses stick around can be a health hazard, so someone has to deal with the remains.

Whether you’re doing this for the Simpler Life challenge or you just want to do the job no one wants to do, we commend you, and we’ll show you how to become a roadkill remover.

First off, as you can probably imagine, the job of a roadkill remover doesn’t really have requirements. All you need to do is graduate from high school, and own a car, which should be pretty easy to do.

During the early years of your life, make sure to be nice to your family. When it comes time to take your driver’s license test, there’s a good chance your family will offer you a free car if you’ve been good to them.

Once you’re out of high school, all you need to do now is just try to find the job. There’s a lot of randomness involved in a bunch of things in BitLife, and this job is unfortunately one of them.

Go into the Occupation menu, then Jobs, and scroll through the job list and look for roadkill remover. If it’s not there, age up a year to cycle the job list, or manually close BitLife if you don’t want to waste any years.

And, well, that’s really all there is to it. You just have to keep refreshing the list until the job shows up. You should have no issues acing the interview once it does show up.
