Disney Sorcerer’s Arena Tier List: Best Characters in the Game

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

I am here today to share with you a Disney Sorcerer’s Arena tier list – a list of the best characters in the game, divided into categories that will help you better understand which characters to focus on and which to ignore.

In most games like Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, creating a tier list is not an easy process. Here especially, there are many things to take into consideration, like the type of character (Hero or Villain), their affinities (some are much better when paired with other characters) and even what type of battle you are having (campaign, PvP etc).

Also, in order to make the selection of the best characters in the game even more difficult, we have the fact that unlocking them is a real challenge and you will need a lot of time to get them all unlocked and in optimum shape (max stars and higher tiers) in order to get the most of them.

The golden rule of thumb here is that the characters that start with more stars are by default better simply because they are stronger overall and have more skills to start with.

But even so, there are o many other things to take into account… which is a difficult thing to do, but I am here to do it. So let’s check out the Disney Sorcerer’s Arena tier list below:

Disney Sorcerer’s Arena Tier S Characters

Note: In each tier, the characters are listed randomly, not from best to worst.

Ariel

I rarely place support characters in a top tier in any game – even less so when we’re talking about a starting character. But the truth is that Ariel is really amazing and probably the only healer you will need for a long time.

While she doesn’t deal a ton of damage, she is still harmful enough to opponents, but extremely useful to allies thanks to her heal all special. Her Leader Skill increases the Health of all characters, making Ariel one of the best support units in the game and a real gem in early stages and for a long while afterwards.

Mor’Du

With this one, things are really simple: you want damage dealt? Mor’Du does that. A really straightforward damage dealer, but one that’s insanely effective, especially after getting Ancient Rage when his health drops below 40%.

The Horned King

Without a doubt, one of the best characters in the game. A massive damage dealer that can actually spam the battlefield with his Cauldrons, The Horned King is hard to beat and really really strong.

The Manticore

Another great tank, one with really impressive skills. He deals a lot of damage too, which isn’t common among Tanks. One of the easier characters to get in this Tier, as shards for him are currently offered as Passholder Season rewards.

Hades

If you’re looking for a damage-dealing focused character, this guy is your man. I am not extremely happy about the fact that he only gets better when his health is low, but he’s a beast for sure.

Shan Yu

Villains seem to have an advantage here and Shan Yu is another character that’s focused on dealing massive amounts of damage. There’s nothing you can’t love about him! He has the potential to gain an extra turn (if he deals the final blow to an opponent) and also increases the speed of fellow Kingdom teammates.

Disney Sorcerer’s Arena Tier A+ Characters

Pocahontas

What? Another support ranked so high? Yes, and one that works really well with Ariel – even though you need to go massively for damage if you team the two up.

Pocahontas won’t heal your characters, but will grant all sort of effects and buffs, including Life Drain, Haste and all sort of stat boosts. She’s definitely one of the best supports in the game!

Maui

I kept promoting him from lower tiers because he is actually really good and clearly one of the best tanks in the game. One that can deal a lot of damage and debuff opponents too!

His special is really OP (gains shield and taunt based on dealt damage), he is really difficult to defeat and works best with other Oceanic characters in the team. Best tank in the game!

Buzz

One of the starting characters and a massive damage dealer. His To Infinity special deals Stun as well, which comes in handy at all times.

Aladdin

Another damage-dealing focused hero. Swift and lethal, he’s great to have around if you don’t have better damage dealing options.

Sully

Another starting hero, Sully is actually a decent Tank. Deals damage to all enemies when gaining Taunt and has extra bonuses if they are affected by fear. Solid tank!

Ian

A good support unit if you’re looking for somebody to debuff opponents and keep them that way. Not a lot of damage with the basic ability though.

Jasmine

A really underrated character: she deals a ton of damage, summons Rajah (with instant Taunt) and has a chance to heal or removes debuffs to teammates. Bonus points if you have Aladdin in the squad.

Davy Jones

A really strong character focused on damage dealing, which can also spam the battlefield with units. His second special is not as useful, unfortunately, making a great character somewhat weaker.

Emperor Zurg

Another really strong character focused on dealing crazy damage. His skills are great to target low health or high health opponents (depending on the situation) and his offense can go up as the turns pass.

Scar

All summoners are really powerful in this game, and Scar is one of them. His hyenas are decent in terms of stats and can gain Life Steal to stay alive for longer. A great character!

Pete

Massive damage dealer. You don’t mess up with Pete! He’s perfect if you have more Villains in your team, and looking at the top characters in Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, it’s pretty obvious that’s not a problem.

The Queen of Hearts

We know by now that summoners are really strong in this game – and the Queen of Hearts gets better with potential counterattacks and solid damage dealing as well.

Big Bad Wolf

Initially, I had him a Tier lower, but I decided to promote him as he’s a massive damage dealer with life drain potential and a real terror for other Hero characters. So, depending on the team you’re facing, he could become even more useful, potentially a top tier character.

This would be our list of the best characters in Disney Sorcerer’s Arena. I know that some people have their favorites and tend to rank them higher simply because they like the character itself… but that shouldn’t matter in this game.

I am, however, planning to do more testing and analyze the characters better: I realize that my top tier doesn’t really recommend any real offensive character, and we need more there. The game is still very new and it’s difficult to rank so many characters at once.

However, if you have some constructive criticism to add – or a different ranking for the heroes listed above, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts by sharing a comment (or more) below.
